CyberChapter MEMBER ANNOUNCEMENTS

All,

Its that time of year again when we start looking forward to a new year for the CyberChapter. We have had a good year in 2009 and I personally look forward to continuing the trend into 2010!

As we look forward, we see that there are plenty of opportunities for everyone to get more involved with our group by serving as a Officer or committee chair for the CyberChapter. Our most immediate need is a new Vice-president/President Elect.

If you or someone you know may be interested, please let me know. One concrete benefit of being an officer is that you get extra re-certification points from the IHMM. People who are an officer in their local chapter receive 2 extra re-cert point per year, which is definitely worth the small bit of effort required to be a Chapter officer.

Don't forget about the CyberChapter meeting tomorrow. The meeting will be held at 1:00PM Eastern/10:00 AM Pacific. The featured presenter is Dr. David Wartinbe, speaking about the ecological and other effects from volcanic eruptions. He has personal experience in this topic as he resides near Mt. Redoubt, the volcano which erupted in Alaska during the last couple years.

Waste Management has again allowed us to use their WebEx platform for this meeting and the log-in and call information is given below. One hint with this platform, if you can, take a couple minutes today to load the Meeting Manager (link below) as this will make your log-in tomorrow a little quicker. This is not required, but may simplify things for you. Also, don't forget that you can dial into the conference call, even if you are unable to get to log-in from your computer (i.e. traveling).
